Snippet quick start in 5 steps

  1. From the dashboard, open your site, choose GTM or GA4 in step 1, then get the script via “Get script”.
  2. Paste the snippet into your site <head> (or before </body> if your CMS requires it).
  3. Publish, reload your site, then verify “installation detected” in the dashboard.
  4. Configure categories, ad pixels if needed, and add a reopen link /#cookiefort-manage-cookies if the floating button is off.
  5. Run automatic cookie detection, handle unknown cookies, then apply updates to the widget.

Validation checklist

  • - Banner appears on first load.
  • - Accept / Refuse / Configure actions work correctly.
  • - Preferences can be reopened (floating button or /#cookiefort-manage-cookies link).
  • - Dashboard correctly detects the installation.
  • - Ad pixels load only after marketing consent (if enabled).
  • - Automatic cookie detection is completed and unknown cookies are handled.

Quick troubleshooting

Script not detected

Confirm the snippet is published on the right domain, then trigger a fresh verification.

Banner not visible

Check console errors, CDN cache, and ensure the script is present in rendered HTML.

Preferences cannot be reopened

If floating button is disabled, add a footer/menu link to /#cookiefort-manage-cookies.
