FAQ

Find answers to the most common questions about CookieFort: pricing, setup, compliance, tracking, integrations, and customization. If a question is missing, our team is just one message away.

Will it work on my site?

In most cases, yes: add the widget script (classic CMS, SPAs, custom stacks). Docs cover common setups.

Will it break my tracking?

The goal is the opposite: align the banner, Google Consent Mode v2, GTM/GA4, and ad pixels so measurement and campaigns follow real consent.

Is it hard to install?

No, one script tag, then dashboard configuration. Many teams finish in under a day.

Does this make me “GDPR compliant” automatically?

No tool replaces legal analysis. CookieFort helps document choices and control scripts; overall compliance also depends on your site and processing.

Does it work with Google Tag Manager?

Yes. CookieFort aligns with GTM and Google Consent Mode v2 so containers receive signals consistent with the banner. You can also connect GA4 directly (gtag) without GTM.

Can I use GA4 without GTM?

Yes. In dashboard step 1, choose GA4 mode and enter your measurement ID (`G-…`). The snippet includes gtag.js and the widget; GA4 config is applied by the widget after consent, with Google Consent Mode v2 defaults first.

Are Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest pixels supported?

Yes. Enable ad pixels in step 1 (Installation) and enter the IDs you need. Scripts load only after explicit marketing consent. If the same pixels already run in GTM, avoid double loading.

Can I show a different privacy policy by country?

Yes. Enable multi-country customization in the Privacy accordion (option “Multi-regulation privacy links”). The widget detects browser locale and shows the country URL when set (Switzerland, UK, Australia, US), otherwise your global privacy link. This is URL routing, not automatic legal analysis per jurisdiction.

Can I export consents?

Yes, the dashboard supports exports for internal use or records (e.g. CSV).

How long does setup usually take?

Most teams can go live in a few hours: add the script, configure copy/colors, then validate the banner directly on the site.

Is CookieFort suitable for agencies with multiple clients?

Yes, through the agency partner program: deploy and monitor CMPs on client sites with a certified framework and dedicated terms. Standard self-serve plans cover one site per subscription : see the Agency program page.

What is included in the subscription price?

Each tier (Mini, Starter, Growth, Pro) includes a visit quota per billing period, full product access (banner, Google Consent Mode v2, GTM or GA4, Meta/TikTok/LinkedIn/Pinterest ad pixels, multi-country customization, automatic cookie detection, exports, email support), and covers one site (property / domain). Self-serve plans include a 7-day free trial. Only the included visit volume changes between tiers; overage is billed in blocks.

Can I manage multiple sites or domains?

A self-serve subscription covers one site. To deploy and manage CMPs for multiple clients, see the agency partner program at /agency.

What is a visit?

A visit is an active browser session on your site. It starts when the page loads and ends when the tab or browser is closed. On first arrival, the visitor must make a consent choice; each new page load counts as a new visit.

How is the visit count measured?

The counter sums visits on the site covered by your subscription during the current billing period, aligned with your Stripe cycle. If the visitor accepted or customized preferences, their visitor ID is reused across visits; if they refused, a new ID is assigned on each visit. Changing preferences during the same browser session does not create an additional visit.

How can I find my monthly unique user count?

If you use an analytics tool such as GA4, open the User acquisition report and look at the Total users metric.

What happens if I exceed my included quota?

Extra visits are billed in blocks of 5,000 visits (€10 ex. VAT per block on self-serve tiers). The dashboard shows consumption and warns you as you approach the included limit.
